| Italy is the winner of
the first World of Bread
"Taste & Nutrition" contest
A new contest focused on nutritional quality
The World of Bread "Taste & Nutrition" is a new international
contest promoting the value of bread as a base food that possesses
undisputed gastronomic properties, also as a nutritional reference.
Created by the association "Ambassadeurs du Pain", the event
was held on January 20th and 21st, live, as part of the Sirha -
International Hotel Catering and Food Trade Exhibition.
Nine countries, represented by a professional baker and his/her
assistant, took part in the first World of Bread contest.
The teams had eight hours in which to prepare different types and
shapes of bread in the following categories: "breads of the world",
"viennoiseries/sweet breads" and "artistic creation". A special
"Nutrition and Health" prize was also awarded, in partnership with
Puratos.
The first World of Bread "Taste & Nutrition" contest has been won by professional
baker Ezio MARINATO and her assistant Simone RODOLFI, for ITALY.
They have won the Trophy of the "Ambassadeurs du Pain", also two Gold
medals.
Christophe ACKERMANN and Nora JOLISSAINT achieved second place, with
SWITZERLAND.
They won a Cup and two silver medals.
Fabien PONCET and Sébastien CARREAU achieved third place, with FRANCE. They won a Cup and two bronze medals.
The Special Nutrition prize in association with Puratos has been awarded to Yeun YOON and Hyun-Jin BYUN
for SOUTH KOREA.
